I know what you mean. I don't mind being described as "that @sian girl who yells at everybody" XD But some people are overly sensitive about things like that. I mean, when you see a person, race is the first thing that will come to mind because that's the most distinguishable feature of a person. As long as it's not being used to discriminate the person, I think it's perfectly okay to say the race of somebody to describe him/her. I do try to restrain myself from saying a person's race though, because you never know if a person's sensitive about that stuff or not.
